Guard Your Heart

DAY TWO

Remember everyday you'll get a message, Bible verse and a sentence prayer. Be sure to keep up up your "first-thing-in-the-morning" breathing prayer - exhale, "Lord I Need you" and inhale, "Lord I receive you". Revisit day one for all the details. Share your prayer experience in the comment section.

We work hard to guard our most precious possessions from the tangible to those we care about deeply. Yet we leave our hearts unprotected.

The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us that our hearts are valuable. Our thoughts, words and deeds flow from our hearts. It is the place where our hopes and dreams live. It is also the source of our desires and passions.

A river or wellspring, can be stagnant, poisoned and polluted. Be careful to guard your heart from pollutants that can distort it. One of the best ways to guard your heart is through prayer.

“Above all else, guard your heart.”

Proverbs 4:23

Lord, put a watch over my heart to protect it and show me how to guard it from an enemy that seeks to disrupt, disappoint and destroy.
