Strengthen My Inner Being

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Mercy and Grace

Gracious God, help us to slow down long enough today to abide in your presence and recognize your voice amid the cacophony of sounds that assail us. Whisper words of hope when people try to dampen our day. Tell us again of your everlasting love when we face dream dashers and peace snatchers. Remind us that we can do all things through you when things seem impossible.

We come to this throne of grace confidently so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need. Speak to our hearts again Lord, your servants are listening. Amen

In Your Hands

Lover of our souls, we surrender our circumstances and ourselves to you once again. Into your hands we place our hopes and dreams and our fears and failures. Into your hands we place the thoughts of our minds and the meanderings of our spirit. Into your hands we place our body temple grateful that you have breathed on us the breath of life. We trust to your care the substance of our concerns.

Be now, our advocate before the Father as we confess and seek forgiveness of sin. Help us to look with eyes of faith to see you working behind the scenes, even when we see things that shake the foundation of that faith. In Your name, Amen

Lord, Help us to shake the dust of the past from our feet and reach toward the possibilities of this day. We confess our sins and are grateful that you are faithful to forgive us of all of our sins.

Do a new thing in us today as we align ourselves with your will and Word. Lift our eyes to new horizons and give us a fresh vision. Help us to see beyond ourselves to the needs of others. Show us how to touch another’s life with your love. Then, help us to boldly move forward whether it is into the heart of a challenge or to the bottom of a problem. Amen

Creator and Sustainer of Life, help us to push pass barriers of limitation to live fully this gift of a brand new day. We confess our sins of commission and our sins omission. The sins we aggressively committed and the ones we committed because we failed to do or say something. Thank you for forgiveness.

Help us today to choose our words carefully. Help us to use words that express appreciation, affection and kindness to others. Help us to use our time wisely lest we waste it on activities that keep us from achieving our divine purpose. Help us not to waste time on people who drain our energy, distract us from our goals and who undermine our self-esteem. In Your name, Amen.

Almighty God, as you have commanded the winds and the waves command the storms in our lives to be still. Speak peace be still to the stormy economic seas of many people in communities and countries around the world. Speak peace to those who are caught in storms of anger, hate and pain. Speak peace to those suffer because of the unresolved storms of prejudice and fear. Speak peace to those who live in daily abusive storms in their homes. Speak peace to those who are being tossed to and fro because the storms of others threaten to sink their livelihood.

Speak peace to the turbulence of our times. Give us your perfect peace to ride out the storms. In Jesus name, grant us the wisdom and the diverse strategies to navigate both stormy seas and calm waters. Amen.

Emmaus Walk

God of Grace and God of Glory forgive us when we failed to recognize you. Just like the two men who walked with you to Emmaus, we didn’t see it was you. We didn’t see it was you who was helping us when we were in trouble. We didn’t see you working behind the scenes to help us keep things together. We didn’t see you when you were holding us up when we fell to temptation. We didn’t see you opening doors, creating opportunities or protecting us from dangers seen and unseen.

Open our eyes today so we can see you clearly. Open our ears to hear what you have to say to those who have ears to hear. As we spend time with you on our own Emmaus roads, may we walk long enough until our hearts burn within us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Grant us, O Lord, the courage to put our sin behind us as your have put it behind you. Guide us by your spirit to the places where we can serve you best. Fill us with your love so that the ways and words of our haters cannot cause confusion and chaos today.

Help us to rise above aimlessness. Help us to shake the dust of despair from our feet. Help us to shed the robes of selfishness and help us to robe ourselves in selflessness.

Send your Holy Spirit into the very sinew of our flesh, into the substance of our souls permeating our very bones. Let compassion burn like fire shut up in our bones. Let the flame of zeal ignite the fire of commitment. Turn our weaknesses into strengths and our failures into success! In your name, Amen.

We sit at the table with you today Lord breaking bread to remember your cross broken body and drinking the never-spilt but shed wine to remember that your blood was shed for our sins that created a new mercy seat.

Thank you for enlarging our future with your sacrifice and changing the equation from law to grace. Thank you for setting the table so that all of us can dine sufficiently for it is neither Greek nor Jew, male nor female, bond nor free. We're all one in Christ Jesus.
