One Day at a Time

O God, today I look beyond the inconveniences of 2009 because I'm grateful for the year you've given me. Life is precious. Restrain me from cursing the one who strives to take my place. Help me to extend an invitation to them so that my rivals can be a resource.

Gracious Lord, help me to live one day at a time with a fresh plan of fulfillment. Empower me to act on your divine ideas that I receive in moments of prayer and inspiration. Send these through wholesome, positive thoughts, so they won't get lost in the the uncertainty of the times. Help me to use creative thinking to build upon divine ideas as my activities become more dynamic and my abilities are enhanced. Therefore, I enter this new year with optimism, joy and enthusiasm. In Jesus name, Amen.

PRAYER EXPERIENCE

It has been a joy sharing prayers with you this year. Thanks to all the gracious men and women who shared their special prayers and experiences on this blog. May your God Moments be powerful because you prayed first!

A Fresh Start

Prepare me Lord to begin a new year. Lead me to do those things that help my heart and mind to be receptive to a fresh start.
Today, I will begin by discarding thoughts, attitudes, and habits that are not compatible with an abundant, beautiful and excellent life. I turn away from negative people, places and things and turn towards that which is positive and uplifting. I let go of whatever caused past discouragement, disappointment, or disagreement. I reach for those things that encourage, support and nourish my body, mind and spirit. So, I stand boldly on your Word.. behold you shall do a new thing in me. I am open and receptive to new ideas, activities and relationships. In Jesus name, Amen

Which Way

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope that I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Know, Love, Praise and Value

Grant to me, O Lord, to know what I ought to know, to love what I ought to love, to praise what delights thee most, to value what is precious in thy sight, to hate what is offensive to Thee. Do not suffer me to judge according to the sight of my eyes, nor to pass sentence according to the hearing of the ears of ignorant men; but to discern with true judgment between things visible and spiritual, and above all things to inquire what is the good pleasure of thy will.

God's Love

Thanksgiving for God’s Love

O, Lord our God, how excellent is Your name in All the Earth!
We pause at this time in the Season of Advent with over flowing grateful hearts
And say, “Thank you, Lord!”
Thank You for Your unconditional love gift of Jesus, the Christ!
Thank You for loving us before we loved ourselves;
Thank You for sending Jesus that we might live through Him.
Thank You God for showing us that true love is patient,
And thank You for teaching us the endurance of true love!
Thank you God, for loving us through our sins
And providing us a way back to You and Your love.
Thank You for Christ’s unspeakable gift of eternal life!
We are truly grateful, Lord, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Help us to Receive

Lord, help us to receive the answers we have been awaiting with joy and gladness. Help us to run with Your promises fulfilled.

Help us to tell the testimony of how You did the impossible, fixed what was broken, solved what was problematic, straightened what was disfigured, and restored what had been taken away. In Jesus name, Amen.

Come Again

God of promises made and promises kept, come again into our hearts. Come in a way we need the most and help us rejoice again for divinity clothed in human flesh.

Open our hearts so that we will continue to rescue the lost, strengthen the weak and support your call to this ministry of reconciliation.

Awaken old discarded dreams, restart the vision and reset the goals for the coming new year. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Blessings of Prosperity

"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you." Job 22:21

Too often we look at prosperity as our ability to acquire large bank accounts, the best of physical structures and objects one can touch and feel. But what is true prosperity; and is there a big difference or any difference between blessings and prosperity? When one is able to wake up in the morning, get out of bed, be in your right mind, walk, talk, have a job to go to, a house to live in, ability to pay one's bills and have food in the house, to have a house, transportation, leave home and return safely and have relatively good health this is a blessing. How many individuals do we know that are no longer able to celebrate the birth of Christ? Blessings come in so many forms. Did you have a health issue this year and God bought you through? Let us not forget that blessings when added up, equals true prosperity.

It has been more than three years since I had my first heart event and I know I am rich and prosperous because God has chosen to continue to give me so many blessings.

During this Advent season, every night before going to sleep, record and thank God for the many blessings you received that day.

Father-God I am so grateful for the many blessings of prosperity that you have bestowed upon me today. Amen

Upon Every Snowy Occasion

Dear God,
Everyday is an occasion to thank you for life and the diversity of experiences even snowy ones. Thank you for keeping us safe on snowy roads. Thank you that sinning wheels and cars that refused to navigate the hills and valleys didn’t end in the loss of life. Thank you for the policeman who helped us up the hill along with 12 others! Thank you for those who worked overtime to plow the roads!

Thank you for the neighbor who came to help us dig out. Thank you for heat, lights, milk, bread, sustenance and family.

Now God, we pray for those who do not have family members, neighbors or those who are sworn to protect and serve to help them. We pray for those who have no heat, light or food.

Help us to work together to find ways to be a blessing to those without, with little, with some and no one to care. Encourage us to reach out today to be sure that everyone on our block made it through the storm safe and sound. Touch someone's heart so that they clear the steps and sidewalk of the elderly, disabled, or persons otherwise impaired and perhaps share a meal with the homebound.

In the Name above all names, Amen.

I Took You For Granted

Dear Lord,
Thank you for this day that you have made. Thank you for the new life you have allowed me to experience through the blessing of my family and my friends. You have been faithful down through the years and during this season of Advent, as I remember the coming of your son Jesus Christ; I ask that you will forgive me for all that I have taken for granted. I have taken for granted my mother, my friends, and the gifts you have granted me. Continue to have patience with me as I find myself and return to my first love.

I ask for your patience with me as you lead me toward the destiny you have ordained for my life. Open my eyes of faith that I might clearly recognize You in every part of my life and then see the greatness you have entrusted to each one of us. Let all of us see this Christmas season as an opportunity to bless someone we don’t know, even as we spend time with family and friends.

Finally, I give thanks for those who sacrifice everyday for my freedom and I ask that you bless the mothers and fathers who will have to sit in a foxhole, patrol a distant border, or fly through the sky somewhere in a foreign country during this season while securing the freedom and safety of our nation. I pray that you will be a blessing to them and remind all of us of the need to die to our selfishness and arrogance so that someone else will know your blessings through our sacrifice. Our song today is, “Come, Lord Jesus! Come and visit your people. We await your coming. ”

Thank you in advance for answered prayer. In Jesus name, Amen!

Peace, Possible Peace

Holy God,
As we prepare for all the possibilities of the coming of Christ, we need your peace. We need your peace that surpasses our understanding, so that we do not lose sight of why you come. We need your peace in our homes and in our jobs and in our schools and in our communities and in our churches. We need your peace, so that our living will not is in vain. We need your peace so that we can recognize that this life that we live is not about us, but about you. We need you peace so that in everything that we do and everything that we say, we have the sensibilities to seek your wisdom and your guidance. We need your peace in the wars that rage in our nations, in the wars that rage in our homes and in the wars that rage within us.

Teach us to prepare our minds, bodies and souls to be instruments of your peace. Teach us what it is operate in the possibilities of the coming Savior.

As we seek your peace, let us not cower down from seeking justice for those who cannot seek justice for themselves. Help us through our actions, show what your love looks like that others may come to understand why you have come.
In the Peaceful Name of Jesus Amen

Silent Night

Nights are rarely silent and holy these days.
Lord, help us to carry a little bit of silence within us as we meet the busy rush of crowded streets, malls and agendas, tinkling brass and sounding cymbals. Help us to enter into the chaos with your silence to encourage others to be still and know that you are God. Help us to be holy because you are holy in thought, word, and deed. Help us to have extra calm so that wars and worries won’t capture us today. And when the night comes, may we sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. Amen.

No One

There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus.
There is no one who can help us like you can help us.
There is no other who strengthens us like you do.
There is no one who lifts us above our circumstances and sets us in a place where our enemies can’t reach us.
There is not another who can calms our fears, ignite our joy, or engulf us with such an abiding love – like you Lord.
Thank you for being just that kind of friend.
Ok Friend, there are challenges up ahead. Since nothing is impossible with you, my Friend, what impossible things are we going to handle today?!

Enable Us Lord

Fountain of life, we thank you for the gift of another day. Forgive us of our sins of omission –the things we didn’t do and should have done. Forgive us for the sins of commission- the sins that so easily beset us.

Help us today to offer thanks to you, not in pious gestures or empty words but by living faithful to your call. Enable us to bear the fruit of thankfulness by serving others. Empower us to reach beyond our comfort zones to build community with those around us. Help us to willingly accept the love and friendship of others.

We know that you are with us and for us everyday. In Jesus name, we offer this prayer, Amen

Making Room

Thank you Lord for the call during this Advent season to make all things new. Help us to make room for our own nativity, even where there is no room at our own inns. Grant us peace when we are busy but not blessed. Exchange our sorrows for joy and any bitterness for love. If we are lost and cannot find our way, put salvation under the tree. Let this season be a time of hope in spite of wars and rumors of wars, negative prognosis and ill will; let heaven and nature sing, joy to the world, Amen.

Anxious Anticipation

Gracious God,
We await the coming of Christ with anxious anticipation during this advent season. We thank you Lord that for over two thousand years Jesus comes and that through Jesus coming we remember that you love us so much that you sent Jesus so that through our belief and our faith we will never perish. We thank you Lord for this time of waiting and Hope. We know Lord that in the midst of all that happens around us, sickness, job loss, indiscretions, fear and depression we can put our hope in Christ that through Christ coming, again, our living will not be in vain.

Dear God we ask for blessings for our nation and for our world. As 30,000 troops are being prepared to go off to war, we ask that you give their families the hope that comes from knowing you in the full pardon of our circumstances. We ask you Lord that we learn to be just people. Teach us to be just people who operate in your justice, in your equitable distribution of resources, in your love and in your guidance. We put all our hope in You, because you are our God.

We praise your Holy, your Righteous and your Loving Name as we prepare our hearts and our minds and our souls for the coming of Christ.
Amen

Bend, Break and Blossom

Eternal source of hope, help us to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ. You already know that this is a season of hopes and fears. We hope everything will be all right, everything will get done, everything will be worthwhile and everyone will be a channel of peace to those around them.

Help us to be a blessing to others, even our co-workers and supervisors. Today, we pray that our relationships will remain strong and will not break or bend in the stress of the season but will blossom. In Jesus, name. Amen.

Refresh Us

God of this brand new day, we welcome you with our many morning moods. Some of us barely made it though the night while others couldn’t wait for a fresh start and a new beginning. Some of us dread the crises we must face today while others view the challenges as opportunities to be conduits of your power.

Whatever the circumstance, refresh us with your spirit. Help us not to repeat the mistakes of the past and keep us from new evils that seek to disrupt. Provide the resources for our rescue and redemption today and always…in Christ’s name. Amen.

Eager Anticipation

Dear Lord in this season of eager anticipation of a rebirth of hope, a transformation from distress and gloom-we believe that those things that have held us down and kept us bound—will nevertheless cease and will be no more.

As your people we shall no longer walk in darkness for the Light of the World has come and His name is Jesus. We cling to your name Jesus because it reminds us that you took on human flesh for our sake. We recognize your divinity Christ because you never lost the ability to change your situation but instead chose to save our souls. We pray that through those times of despair that we remember your bright light that guided us all to you.

In this day, we believe fervently that you will again enlarge our territory, restore joy where despair sought to disable it and we will again rejoice in your name always. We shall have no fear of what could go wrong, we have no fear of what will go wrong-we simply believe that because you are Lord, you are Savior and you are God that all things are indeed working together for our good because we have been called by you and because we truly love you.

In you we seek our eternal Wonderful Counselor-the One who is able to guide us into all truth, we believe our Mighty God desires only what is good for us, we know that your mercies endure forever for you are the Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace—we love, adore and anticipate all great things during this most sacred period in our lives-Jesus come, it is you we love, it is you we serve. Father receive our prayer in the name of the One we love-Jesus Christ.

Decisive Decisions

It’s been hard making decisions lately. I want to make the right ones because failure is not an option here. Pray with me today, that I am decisive. The livelihoods of other people depend on me making the right decision.

Lord, guide my thoughts and then my feet. Be the wisdom I need to do what must be done. Then help me live with the answer, Amen

Awaken my Soul!

Merciful God, awaken my soul! Grant me a williness to live in covenant with you even while the surprises of the day unfolds. Lift me to dance and sing your praises today so that all who sees me will see the joy you bring to my life.

Grant me a seeking heart so that among all the options, I may still seek you in everyone, in everyplace and in everything. In Jesus name, Amen.

Preparing for THE Arrival

We find ourselves less than a month from the Celebration of Christmas. The days grow darker sooner and our pace seems to quicken. Plans for Christmas shopping and Christmas meals race through our minds. As we prepare for arrival of friends and family, we ask that You prepare us for THE arrival. Just as Joseph and Mary were prepared for the arrival of Jesus through encounters with angels, prepare our hearts and minds to celebrate His birth. Prepare our souls to glorify the Lord. Prepare our spirits to rejoice in God our Savior. Prepare our hearts to overflow with love, peace, hope, and joy. Prepare our minds to worship in this season of advent. Prepare us to celebrate the arrival of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

A SEEKING SEASON

First Sunday in Advent

It's Advent! This is the four-week season to prepare us spiritually for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. The sounds of Christmas will be everywhere. Carols will be sung in church, heard on the radio and while shopping in over crowded malls.

The sound of Advent is the sound of prayer, fasting, study, meditation and worship that seeks the face of God. The sound of Advent is a longing for God to appear. It is the anticipation of the arrival of God's promise and at the same time looking beyond what we can see.

This is the time of year when I seek to increase my prayer time. I listen intently to the voice of God seeking instruction for the celebration preparation as well as guidance for the coming new year.

Advent is more than which grinch will try to steal Christmas or how many sugarplums should be dancing in our heads. It is a concerted seeking season to dig into the Word of God, increase prayer time, worship abundantly and practice authentically your Spiritual Disciplines.

Start with Seleh, a companion for those who want to go deeper in Christ and practice spiritual disciplines, now through Christmas. (Seleh, formerly called Praycation is under construction) Stay with Seleh in the coming new year to grow stronger in the things of God. Many will watch faithfully a favorite television show, football or basketball game. It only take a minute to stick with Seleh daily. Make it a part of the regular devotions.

ADVENT PRAYER - BE A CHANGE AGENT

Dear God,

We are constantly guilty of being wrapped in materialism this season and the fast-paced journeys of our lives that we forget about those around us who are without this season. We are wrong for allowing any of our brothers and sisters to go without food and clothing during this winter season while we continue to shop until we drop. Father, forgive us for what we have done and for what we have left undone.

During this Advent Season, challenge us to be good stewards of your word and bless those who we come in contact with either by word or deed. Allow us to be a blessing to someone else today and allow others to see the spirit you have placed within us. Today allow us to be change-agents through our expression, attitude and demeanor which represent the Love you share for us. Amen.

Still Standing

Transforming Rock of our salvation, we confess that all other ground is sinking sand. You are our Rock, the foundation of our hope and the cornerstone of our faith.

If we should try to stand on other ground, we can do nothing; standing on your promises, we can do everything; standing on you we handle anything; standing on you nothing is impossible and standing on you, everything is possible.

Strengthen us, so that we are filled with the endurance of the mountains who stand against the onslaught on wind and rain. Strengthen us, so that we are filled with the spirit of the rivers who continue to flow against the forces that try to impede or dam them up. Fill us again with the joy of your abundant harvest, so that we may share your joy everywhere with everyone!

THANKSLIVING

Eternal God, what a day to share our thanks and praise of you with others. We are glad to tell of your greatness. We are glad to declare to all, today and everyday of your mighty acts and glorious splendor.

We bless your name for it is by your mercy, our sins are forgiven. It is by your grace, we are saved. It is by your love we are accepted. It is by your peace that surpasses all understanding, we remain calm in the midst of chaos. It is by your power, that the impossible happens everyday. Thank you Lord, there is nothing impossible for you...not just today but everyday!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksliving from our family to yours. Please spend the day wisely with family, friends, a fooball game or a good book. Worship the Lord early and volunteer to help serve meals to those with limited resources. Make space at your table for a senior or single who may or may not have anyone to share the day with. Enjoy the day of thanks and make it a habit - thanksliving everyday!

PRAYER EXPERIENCE

Thanks Bishop McKenzie for the Blessing! A lot of people expound on the 4Th Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day! And they are ready to give him his praise for that day! Well, I can’t wait for the one day in November to give thanks to God for all the blessings seen and unseen that He, through His Son, Jesus, has provided for me and my household. As for us, we’re going to have Thanksgiving daily. Thanking Him for Life, Health and Strength in our Body, Mind and Spirit, shelter, food, clothes, a job, etc. All these things that we take for granted, are gifts from God. I thank God for the Power to recognize and over come the deceiving power of evil, that is constantly lurking in our lives 24/7 trying to steal our Love, Joy and Peace. And Satan will get it if we are not going to God in prayer and Praise daily!

O Give Thanks

"O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his loving-kindness endures forever." Psalm 118:29

Open our eyes today to see all that we should be thankful for even if at the present moment our problems, pain or need might lead us to believe that we have no thanksgiving. Open our eyes to your unfailing goodness. Help us to see that you are working behind the scenes of our lives to usher us into a season of restoration and reconciliation... and for this, we are thankful. Enter our hearts and clear away anything that prevents an attitude of gratitude. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Blind Spots

" O Lord, how do I let go when I'm so unsure of things? I'm unsure of your will, and I'm unsure of myself.... That really isn't a problem at all, is it? The truth of the matter is I hate the very idea of letting go. I really want to be in control. No, I need to be in control. That's it, isn't it? I'm afraid to give up control, afraid of what might happen. Heal my fear, Lord.

How good of you to reveal my blind spots even in the midst of my stumbling attempts to pray. Thank you!

But now what do I do? How do I give up control? Jesus, please, teach me your way of relinquishment. -Amen."

Backyard Blessings

Let us pray together:

O God, my God how excellent is your name in all the earth. I praise you for all that you have made, all that you have done for me and all that is to come.

Open my eyes that I may see the generous blessings on my side of the fence. Immerse me today in a sprit of gratitude as I now realize that the grass is not always greener in the other person's yard. Help me to identify the blessings in my own backyard.

I do not know what the day holds for me but thank God, I know who holds both me and the day! In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.

Do It Again

Almighty and Eternal God, we are yours, joint heirs with Christ to all your gracious gifts. No matter in what direction we look, the evidence of your work confronts us. You have been working behind the scenes of our lives. What could have been jangling discords, you have made it into a melodious symphony of purpose and power. What could have been confusion, you have turned it into order. What cold have been isolation, you've moved us into fellowship. What could have been condemnation, there is now no condemnation but deliverance. Thank you for being present in more ways that we can count.

God's Got Your Backs

Dear God,

The news is not good. Everywhere we turn there is something else to cause anxiety or something to be afraid of. O Lord, we put our trust in you. In spite of today's news reports and the constant threat of danger, we seek you knowing we will find our strength and security in you. We can move forward today and rest peacefully tonight with the wonderful assurance that you' ve got our backs! Amen and Amen.

Yes Lord, Yes!

Yes Lord, our souls say yes to your Word, will and way. Help us to sing unto you a new song. Let's sing a song filled with the melodies of faith not fear and hope not harassment.

Today, we lift our voices for the young. Lord, help them as they aspire to make this a better world. We lift our voices for our sons and daughters. We pray that their zeal and idealism will be nurtured towards responsible action. We pray for the mature. Our prayer is that they fulfill their purpose in the uniqueness of their personalities and responsibilities. We pray for those who need sustenance and provision. We pray for those who cannot grow beyond sorrow and for the sick in body, mind or spirit that they may prosper and be in good health according to your word.

Yes, let us continue to sing new songs, filled with praise and thanksgiving! In the name of Jesus, Amen

O Lord our God, how excellent is your name in all the earth. Grant us this day the reality of your presence. We earnestly seek you. We desire you. We fix our minds on you. We commit ourselves to you again - and again. In all our ways we want to acknowledge you so that you will direct our paths.

You have given us so much, not because you love us more than others, but because you trust us with your treasure in these earthen vessels of ours. Help us to do to live wisely, love sincerely, serve wholeheartedly, act justly and show mercy today and forevermore.

In the name of Jesus, Amen

Come Now Lord

Enter our hearts O God, and clear away whatever might hinder your Word, will and way. Forgive us when we failed to lay aside every sin that seeks us.
Speak to us so that we may follow the clear path set before us. Grant us a courage to face whatever issues may rise to challenge our sanity and sanctity. Help us to show mercy to the powerless.
Compassionate Christ, use our hands and hearts to serve and be a source of healing to each other.
Help us to see ourselves as you see us. Help us to see others as you see them and love them as much as you do. Amen

Our Hope

O God, our hope and source of all life. We acknowledge today with joy the gift of life. Forgive us when we have taken for granted this precious gift or failed to redeem the time.

Lift our thoughts from to self to you, from the me-soever to the whosoever; from the littleness of our deeds to the majesty and wonder of your mighty acts.

Grant us grace for another day. Send joy in the midst of sadness and forgiveness in the face of transgressions. Help us to find the strength to stand in the face of slander.

Our hope is in you, O God, to put all things right which are wrong. Open our eyes so we can see through faith that you are at work even when present circumstances deny it. In Your name, Amen

We bring to you our needs. We bring to you our concerns. Take control even though things seem more than we can handle.

Today we lift our voices in prayer for answers or the patience to live with what we do not understand or comprehend.

We Need You

Gracious God, Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We need you. We need you in our homes. We need you in our schools, we need you at our jobs. We need you in our neighborhoods. We need you in our relationships. We need you in our churches. We need you on our military bases.

Lord, we need you to come into our lives and reign over us and through us. We have not been who you have called us to be. We have become anxious and we are even becoming weary in well doing. Lord, we need more than mere words can say. Lord we need healing in our nation and in our world, in our bodies and in our minds. Lord, we need peace that surpassess all our understanding. Lord, still our hearts, ease our troubled minds and instill in us your righteousness that our living will not be in vain.

Teach us what it means to comfort and show compassion to our neighbor. Instill in us a new walk and a new talk that we are able to effectively articulate your power through our actions.
In the name of Jesus we pray.

IN MY DISTRESS

Lord in my distress I call out to you. I find an assurance that this too shall pass in the stillness of each moment. I wait for your reply to my call without anxiety but with anticipation of an outcome that would restore peace where it has been lost, bring hope where it seems to have faded and serve as a guide for the road I must continue to travel. Lord show up strong as you have done countless times leaving absolutely no doubt that you are indeed God alone. I remain in peace because I know that this prayer has reached your ears and it is hallelujah I cry now because you have relieved my distress, the glory is yours and vindication mine-through Jesus I pray with total belief! Amen (Ps 18:6)

Help us to Dare

Who will we become if we dare to believe that we can do all things through you? Where will we go if we dare to believe that you order the steps of the righteous? What will we do if we dare to believe that nothing is impossible with you? How can we make it if we dare to believe that all things work together for good?

Lord, help us to dare to believe today. Lord, help our unbelief. Empower us to help another to dare to be and to do according to your Word.

Extraordinary

O God, who meets us in ordinary places, doing ordinary things and at ordinary times, empower us to be extraordinary in this uncertain season. Fill our lives with wonder as we witness extraordinary mercies instead of judgement and extraordinary miracles instead of the usual mess.
Give us open hearts to perceive your presence. Give us joyful words to proclaim the good news so that it may be heard above the cacophony of the world's fears. In Jesus' name, may the Holy Spirit energize us to proclaim hope and then be hope in a darkened world. Amen.

In God's Hands

"Hope means to keep living
amid desperation
and to keep humming
in the darkness
Hope is knowing that there is love,
it is trust in tomorrow
it is falling asleep
and waking again
when the sun rises.
In the midst of a gale at sea,
it is to discover land.
In tje eyes of another
it is to see that you are understood...
As long as there is still hope
There will also be prayer...
and you will be held
in God's hands."

Grace Amazing

Lord Jesus, in your name we thank you this morning for a grace that still amazes. Our lives would be terribly different if it wasn’t for your grace. Our names could be listed in the obituary section of the newspaper this morning or on the hospital registry, a court docket, or a sign-in sheet of a mental institution – prognosis poor and future dim. Thank for your unmerited favor!

Thank you for a grace that lifts us up out of the pits of hell,. Thank you for a grace that cannot be earned and is not deserved

Thank you for the finger of grace that woke us up. Thank you for the hand of grace that keeps us up. Thank you for the grace that stands us up again when life trips us up. In Jesus name, may we live this day in anticipation that grace will meet us along the way.

Amen and Amen.

Defeats Do Not Define Us

Early we seek your face this morning thankful for a moment of rest. Thank you for the restorative powers of sleep and the refreshment of rest. Thank you that both were apart of our night time hours.

Forgive us again for sins committed by thought word and deed. Help us to release those who have sinned against us through forgiveness.

In Jesus name, assist us in learning from our mistakes. We know its because of your love you chastise us. Thank God our defeats do not define us nor are we doomed to repeat a negative past. Amen.

O Happy Day

O Lord, our God we rejoice today because you have blessed us with another day of living. Potential is on the horizon, where once again possibility outshines the glare of the impossible.

Help us to be still for a moment to hear your instructions for the road ahead, Quiet our worries, calm our fears, lift our burden as you lift the mists from the mountains; burn away our cares just like the sun burns away the morning fog.

Bless us today to be a blessing. Help us to smile without looking for a smile in return to be kind without attaching strings.

Memories

Dear God,

Remembering our past can be difficult, especially when we have memories of broken dreams, painful ordeals and unresolved conflicts. Help us to remember that in the midst of the darkness there was also the light of your grace. The moments when life seemed to offer nothing became occasions of discovering that you are everything.

When we look back today, we can see you working behind the scenes transforming our difficult moments into a means of grace. Thank God, weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning!

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayer Experience - Godly Outcomes

I Thank you LORD for working out my situations. I praise you for always coming through for me. It may appear that I have more trials than the other person, however, I realize that those trials not only help build my faith, but it demonstrates to others that you are with me when they are resolved in my favor. I am encouraged when you bring me through alright. Father, often times, we may hurt during the process, but even those emotions help develop the tough skin needed for ministry. I praise you, I thank you, and I worship you this morning for Godly Outcomes.

Prayer Requests

Pray for my family. Currently, two of my sisters are in the hospital.

One is being treated for having repeated episodes of falling and low blood. She is ok thus far and going thru further testing at this time.
My other sister was admitted on Sunday for what appeared to be a boil. It turned out to be a rare bacterial infection called Necrotizing fasciitis.

I know the power of prayer, which has been evident thus far. I am asking you to join us in continuing to pray for them as well as my mother and our family. One sister has undergone 2 surgeries thus far and is scheduled for another one today.

For Our Children

* A young honor student was beaten to death coming home from school on the streets of Chicago yesterday. Please pray for a hedge of protection to surround all of our children today and everyday.
VMM

Holy Righteous and forgiving God, in your son Jesus name we ask for your healing protection for our children. We ask you Lord that you meet them where they are in the full pardon of their circumstances.

Lord reign over their lives that their living is not in vain. Teach them God what it is to advocate for themselves, teach them what it is to acknowledge you first and show them what it looks like for all things to line up because you are the head of their lives.
Show our children what it means to love themselves as you have loved them. Teach what it means to be their comforter, thier confidant and their guide. Demonstrate what real love looks and feels like for them so that they does not seek it elsewhere.
Put our children in right relationship with you, so that they will be able to recognize what good healthy relationships are and how to manage and stay in them.

Teach them what it means to be the very temple of the living God, that they learn not to abuse or mutilate their bodies with drugs, sex, alcohol, or weapons, but show them what it means to rise early and bathe and bask in the glow of your peace and righteousness and love.

We thank you Loving God, in your son Jesus name we pray. Amen

Gracious God, in our Lord and Savior Jesus Name,

We thank you for your goodness and your grace and your mercy. hank you that despite who we are, you love us anyhow. Thank you Lord for being our way maker and our heavy load sharer. Thank you that despite our best efforts to the contrary, you seek to redeem us and to make us whole.
Healing God, we ask for the healing of our world. We know Lord that you have all power and you do all things well, so right now we ask that you anoint us for the battle that rages within us. Oftentimes, we cannot find the words to adequately articulate what goes on in our minds, the things that distract us from you. But God you know, you know our desires and our hearts please strengthen us that we learn to operate in your will that our living will not be in vain.

Weathering the Storm

Father God, Today I am afraid. I look around me at this world that is changing so fast and I feel lost like a small boat in the midst of a storm. I am not built to weather the battering waves or the howling wind. So I wait now in your presence. You spoke the oceans and the four winds into being. You threw the stars in the sky and separated the sea from dry land. You took the hand of Peter who was sinking into the depths of the water and walked him to safety. I choose now to fix my eyes on you and not on the storm. I settle my heart on your love and not on the current that threatens to pull me under. Thank you that you are my firm anchor even through the darkest night, Amen

Prayer Experience

Father,

I need you this morning. I need you to be the breath I take, I need you to be in every decision I make. I need you to direct every move I make. I need you to be in every word I speak. Without you, I continue to realize I really would not be able to function. I so grateful that in times like these, questionable times, emotional times, rough times, in times like these, I'm so grateful that you are there for me to lean on. I don't know where I would be without you.

I thank you that I'm not on the outside looking in on your grace. I thank you that I'm not at the bottom of your priority list. I thank you that I'm not at the back door trying to get in on your love. Thank you for making me a priority today. Thank you that even though you are busy intervening universally, you are not to busy to allow me to spend time with you.

I invite you to be LORD over everything in my life today.

Love, your child

ETERNITY’S EMBRACE

Let us pray:

In the quiet of the night
My soul reaches for you
I breathe deep
As I feel Eternity
Embracing me…
In the midnight hour
I whisper my prayer
Knowing that you hear me
I am able to close my eyes
As I breathe (inhale)
(exhale) Just breathe
Listening
As you speak
In a still small voice
That summons me
Down the path
Of my greatest good
As I journey
I see the manger
The cross
The tomb
And I rejoice as I
Dance
Just dance
Into the Light
of Eternity.

Prayer Quote

"Prayer catapults us onto the frontier of the spiritual life. Of all the Spirirutal Disciplines prayer is the most central because it ushers us into perpetual communion with the Father. Meditation introduces us to the inner life, fasting is an acocompanying means. study transforms our minds, but it is the Discipline of prayer that brings us into the deepest and highest work o the human spirit. Real Prayer is life creating and life changing."

LEANING INTO GRACE

Let us pray together:

Oh God
On this morning
I lean into Your grace
So glad that Your mercies
Are new every morning
For I confess
I have sinned
Fallen short
Of Your Glory.
Have mercy Lord
Have mercy on me
And echoing
Rebounding
throughout eternity
I hear Your voice
Father
Forgive
S/he knows not what
S/he does...
Oh!
Amazing Grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now am found
Was blind
But now I see…
Thank you
O Merciful God
For your
Amazing Grace
Which looks beyond my faults
And sees my needs…

Prayer Experience

Consumed by Grace:

So often when I am tempted to take matters into my own hands and my soul is flooded, there are only two choices that I have: I can sink and allow my life to be consumed, drowning in sorrow.... OR I can swim and allow my life to be consumed, overwhelmed by GRACE...rising from agony through the Power of Prayer...walking on water.

Can I get a witness from all you non-swimmers out there? (Luke 22:42; Zech. 4:6b).

OPEN DOORS

Let us pray together:

Lord
I am waiting on the
Season of
The Open Door.
As I wait
I cast all of my cares on you
For I know you care for me
My Ears are open
My Heart is receptive
As I wait…
Straining to hear your “YES”
Knowing that it is coming
For I know—and believe--that
You have a good plan for me
Not to harm me
But to give me a future
And a hope.
So here I am Lord
Searching
Knocking
Asking
Savoring
the great expectation
of Your good gift
for me.
I live in trust
Walk by faith
It is…
ENOUGH.

Strengthen Us

Let us pray together:

O Lord, in this time of change and promise, strengthen us. You are our strength and our shield; You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We know, Gracious God that your eyes go to and fro throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts long for you. We often grow weary, but our hope is in you to renew our strength, courage and vision. We do not fear, for you are with us. We are not dismayed or overwhelmed, for you are our God. We know you will strengthen us and help us; that you will uphold us with your righteous hand. We abide in your comfort. In the matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Prayer Experience

Gracious God, Abba, Father, I praise you. I worship you. I adore you this morning. Mighty Ruler and Awesome Creator, I thank you for another day.

Father, as I begin this day, I commit myself totally into your hands. I give you my heart to guard, because out of my mouth comes what is in my heart. I give you my mind to guard, because as I think, so therefore I am. I give you my tongue, because it can hurt not only my enemies, but also those I hold dear.

God, I give you me this morning. I pray that I have hidden your words in my heart that I might not sin against you. Take full control. Help me to represent you in the most excellent way. I ask you to search my heart father, and remove anything in me that goes against your statures. Replace those areas with your love.

Forgive me of any thing I may have done, I may have said, or that I may have thought that was not pleasing in your sight. Help me to walk and work worthy of your calling. I ask for your guidance in all that I do today. I pray that your hands of protection will keep us. I pray your grace and mercy upon all of my prayer partners, the fellowship of the Body of Christ, all of the workers of your vineyard, my family, and my friends.

I especially lift up to you all of our loved ones who have not made that commitment to follow you. Let today be the day that they take note of how blessed they are. Open their eyes, their ears, and their heart to your voice, and your calling. Let today be the day they answer, and say YES to you. I love you, I praise you, and I glorify you!

Let us pray together:

Thank you Lord for being all beginnings and all endings. In the morning you cradle the world and in the evening you heal our wounds so we can fight another day; You are the morning dew and the evening mist; You are the early morning sun kissing the potential of a new day and you are the twilight whispering promises yet to come.

We sing of sorrows and laugh at mistakes; we dance in the rain and laugh at the wind; we dream of things yet to come and believe the things we hope for, the evidence of thing unseen.

When our faith falters and our hopes crash upon the craggy rocks of ambition, renew our strength; let us be caught into your loving arms when we faint and lifted up as we struggle to rise above circumstances that seek our demise. You are a great and mighty God who helps us to live above our circumstances.

It is in the name of Gratitude we pray, Amen.
