It's What You Pray

I said to the Lord this morning,
O God, yet another phone call about tragedy, loss, poor prognosis, emergency surgery, tumors, pain and suffering. What can I say?

There is yet another sound bite of misfortune and misspent opportunities. What can I say?

There are yet too many crises in too many places with too many people we care about and a multitude of people we do not know. What can I say?

God said to me, Daughter, it’s not what you say it is what you pray.

So, I prayed, God of grace and glory, hear the cries of your people. Where healing is needed, dispense it now, in Jesus name, where help is needed, give it now in the name of Jesus. Where shelter is needed, provide now in the name of Jesus, and where there is a need for sustenance, supply it now, in the name of Jesus.

In the name of Jesus, let your healing waters flow, let your love abide and your mercy endure forever in this Advent season. Amen.

Live Beyond Your Worries

Sometimes the worse thing you can say to someone is "Stop worrying. It's going to be alright". The person may believe you for a moment but go right back to worrying. Try this. Encourage the person to give their worry to God. Invite them to take their hands off the worry and let God handle it this time. Surely, its worth a try.

Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, or about your body, what you shall put on.” Matthew 6: 25-27

Gracious God, thank you for loving me even when I wasn’t loveable. Thank you for caring about me and showing me in so many different ways. You are the provider of all my needs and you are generous with your gifts.

Forgive me for being consumed with worry. I’ve allowed worry to sneak into my life stealing joy, peace and happiness. Worry has worn me out. I do not have the energy to dwell on your Word or the concerns of the community.

Help me to live beyond my worries and focus on your Word. Deliver me from myself so that no matter what is going on, I will remain calm trusting you to handle the day. Deliver me so that I’m free to enjoy the joy of my salvation.

In Jesus name, I place everything into your hands. Amen.

Jehovah Rapha

Jehovah Rapha, God the healer of all our diseases touch our bodies with your restorative power. We reach out to touch the hem of your garment. Reach out and touch us back by binding our wounds, deadening our pain and bathing us in grace. Reach out and touch us with a balm that soothes sins sick hearts. Restore unto us the joy of our salvation. Repair the breach between others and us. And if there is a need to heal our relationship with you, do so in the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayer for the Healing of God's Nations

O God our heavenly father, we come before you now because we have no other papa who is acquainted with all our sorrows; we have no other daddy who understands our grief; we have no other father who understands tears as a language.

We need you Lord - Come by here. We need you now – Come by here.
People of all nations who speak different languages need you now.

Lord, at such a time as this, when people all over the world are faced with issues of: Homelessness
Poverty
Political division
Depression
Anxiety
HIV
HPV
H1N1
We need you Lord.
All over these nations our children are faced with abduction, abandonment, exploitation and the like.

We come boldly before you asking that you come in and do what you do best – to heal body, mind and spirit. We pray with one heart, one desire and one faith because we know you can do all things. We think we can. We tried to do what we can, but we have to fall at your feet and watch you heal, watch you deliver, watch you break bondage and watch you set people free.

You are the greatest physicians. Your prescriptions are in your Word.
Right now, from every nation, from the North, South, East and West:
We take authority over our financial health, in the name of Jesus.
We claim healing over our family lives, in the name of Jesus.
We claim a mighty healing over our spiritual health, in the name of Jesus.
We take authority over our physical healing, over cough, sneeze, cancer, and HIV in every nation.

Start the process with me, my neighbor and to the entire world.
Heal body, mind and soul, in Jesus name, Amen.
