Fresh Courage

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” II Corinthians 4: 8-9

I remember the awareness of the spirit of God that sought me out in my aloneness and gave me a sense of assurance that undercut my despair and confirmed my life with new courage and abiding hope. Amen

Howard Thurman

Let us pray:

Give me everything I need today Lord, to face critical challenges, crises and change! Amen.

Speak Up

O God of justice, miracles and mighty deed,

We lift up to you those who have been silenced by hardship, affliction and injustice. Forgive us for not speaking up for the least among us. We confess that we have not exercised our influence and position to change things. Grant us the courage to be agents of change and instruments of justice. Empower us with the will and the desire to see your kingdom manifest on earth as it is already done in heaven. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

Truth Revealed

Gracious God of unconditional love, reveal the truth you need us to claim about ourselves according to your word. Surround us with your love so that our true selves will come out of hiding, that we may become the persons you have created and redeemed us to be. Cover the unrefined edges in our lives with your grace and mercy.

Be our source of courage so that today and everyday we will desire that your will not ours be done. Let your love light the way through life’s storms and sufferings and guide the way over roadblocks and. In Jesus Name, Amen.

A Prayer For Courage

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the Lord.

Psalm 27:14

Father,
I pray for courage as I begin this day, for I understand there is work to be done, burdens to be carried, feelings to be shared and joys to be celebrated.
Grant me the courage to be silent that I may hear Thy voice; to persevere, that I may share Thy victory; and to remember, lest I forget the way by which Thou has led me.
And when this day is done, O Lord, may I have the courage to see Thy guiding hand in the friendships that have been made, in the hurts that have been healed, and in the strength that has been given.
Amen.
