Serene

"The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people ith peace."

Psalm 29:11

"In the heart's depths a peace serene and holy abides, and when pain seems to have its will, or we despair, --oh, may that peace rise slowly, stronger than agony, and we be still."

S. Johnson

Back on Track

"You are my strength and my song; You are my Counselor and my Friend." Psalm 118

Out of my distressed Lord, I called upon You. Thank you for answering me and helping me to get back on track. The stone that the builder rejected has become the foundation for my life. I give thanks to you for the invitation to a new life!

You have been with me; You live within me helping me to face the fears that well up inside me. Now, I'm not consumed by worry and fear that I may get off track again. I acknowledge your Presence within me and Your love surrounds me so that I am no longer overwhelmed.

Today, I shall live in peace and give witness to your saving grace. You are my strength and my song; You are my Counselor and Friend.

Unfathomable Grace

O lord, our God, how excellent is your name in all the earth. Forgive us for coming too often with our petitions for our right now and tomorrow needs without proclaiming your great and mighty acts or thanking you for the joy of our salvation.

We rejoice this morning for your unfathomable amazing grace, unequaled peace and endless love. Help us to make known today all the marvelous things you have done in us and in the lives of those we know and love.

We pray for the victims of earthquakes and tsunamis; gang violence and acts of hate; victims of AIDS and other diseases; those who risk their lives on the fields of conflict and those who live in the gap between what is promised and what is delivered. Giver of every good and perfect gift, help us to share with the hungry and marginalized; help us to bless those who can't bless us back.

In Jesus name, Amen

Peace, Perfect Peace!

Dear God,

We praise you today for the courage of our nation's leader to end a military conflict so that our sons and daughters, husbands and wives are able to come home; a nation to rebuild and a nation to recover - ours, there's and everyone else's. Thank God for those who sacrificed everything and those who paid the ultimate price on fields of conflict.

We know that the war may be over, but there is still a fight on our hands. The fight for the souls of men and women. The fight for the future of our children and their children's children. The fight for the hearts and minds of our people who are being led astray by misinformation that fan the fires of fear.

Blessed are the peacemakers. Bless those who are able to bring calm in the midst of a chaotic world. Thou, O Lord be a shield around them! Help us today to be agents of peace, vendors of mercy and articulators of freedom in the face of any oppression.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Chaos to Calm

Pray this prayer with me:

My soul only waits for the Lord. In silence I sit in anticipation for the one who is my rock and my salvation. Draw me out of the chaos of this world and into the calm of your intimacy. I breathe out chaos and breathe in calm; breathe out the chaotic experiences of living in an uncertain world and breathe in the calm of a peace that surpasses all understanding; breathe out chaotic personalities and breathe in the calm of a changeless Christ; breathe out ignorance and breathe in the calm of your wisdom that instructs me; breathe out my will and breathe in thy will be done.

Calm me just as you have calmed the winds and the waves.
Speak to me just as you spoke to the storm.
Touch me in places I’d rather leave untouched.
See me and know what I thought was hidden from you.
Cross my inner threshold so that we are one.
Here I am Lord your servant is listening

In Jesus Name, Amen

Create in Me

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in me. Create in me a pure mind, a clear conscious and pure motives to serve thee. Create in me a peace that defies the turbulence of the times. Create in me a spirit of surrender so that I can continually resist the urge to grab control of my life. Create in me a joy that overcomes frustration. Creator God, it is in our name I pray today, Amen.

Shower Us

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:2

Most holy and gracious Father, who turns the shadow of night into the glory of new dawning, shower us with your mercy that we may rejoice and be glad all the day. Lift the light of your countenance upon us, calm our troubled thoughts, and guide our feet into the way of peace. Let your strength be more than sufficient to meet and manage our weakness. Let your guidance lead us into all truth and action. Help us in this moment of our lives to be your witnesses as we have received power from the Holy Spirit. In your name, Amen.

Gifted

Gracious giving God, thank you for every good and perfect gift that has come from your hand in our direction. Thank you for the expected and the unexpected gifts.

The gift of grace works powerfully within us. The gift of your love cast out all fear. The gift of your perfect peace helps us to move through strife with a supernatural calm. The gift of forgiveness encourages starting over again. The gift of joy makes our hearts sing in tough times. Help us to celebrate these and other gifts today. In Jesus name, Amen.

Peace, Possible Peace

Holy God,
As we prepare for all the possibilities of the coming of Christ, we need your peace. We need your peace that surpasses our understanding, so that we do not lose sight of why you come. We need your peace in our homes and in our jobs and in our schools and in our communities and in our churches. We need your peace, so that our living will not is in vain. We need your peace so that we can recognize that this life that we live is not about us, but about you. We need you peace so that in everything that we do and everything that we say, we have the sensibilities to seek your wisdom and your guidance. We need your peace in the wars that rage in our nations, in the wars that rage in our homes and in the wars that rage within us.

Teach us to prepare our minds, bodies and souls to be instruments of your peace. Teach us what it is operate in the possibilities of the coming Savior.

As we seek your peace, let us not cower down from seeking justice for those who cannot seek justice for themselves. Help us through our actions, show what your love looks like that others may come to understand why you have come.
In the Peaceful Name of Jesus Amen

Prayer Quote

“Prayer is the beginning and the end, the source and the fruit, the core and the content, the basis and the goal of all peacemaking. I say this without apology, because it allows me to go straight to the heart of the matter, which is that peace is a divine gift, a gift we receive in prayer. “
