Perfect Love

Your perfect love casts out fear. Unbend hearts that have been twisted by fear of things present or things to come. Unbend minds twisted by fear of things that have no power to hurt and from the burdens that are blessings in disguised. Release the heart from any anger that weakens and from guilt for sins long since forgiven.

Perfect Love take away all that holds us back. Usher us into the empowering presence of your agape love. In the loving name of Jesus, Amen.

Forever Love

“How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 36:7

Gracious loving God, remember those today who have covenanted with you and each other to live and share in a forever relationship. May days of comfort outweigh days of challenge. Help them to draw closer to you as they draw closer to each other; and may they live long prosperous lives together.

Today we lift before you couples who are under stress; couples with no openness, no trust, no work, no money, no united front or fierce loyalty to one another. We pray for couples just starting out. Protect them and the love they share. We pray for couples that have been together for a long time. May the love that brought them together grow, flourish and mature with each passing year.

In Jesus Name, Amen

Everlasting Love

“Let the morning bring word of your unfailing love for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way O should go, for to you I lift up my soul” Psalm 143:8

Lord, thank you for loving us with an everlasting love. Your love permeates our very being and guides us through the ups and downs of loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Develop in us the character of your Son so that we may love each other with honesty, kindness, understanding and forgiveness. Help us to be a friend who listens, encourages and cares. Help us to be patient with each other’s weaknesses and grow from each other’s strengths.

Forgive us when have let love down. May our love for you be reflected in the love we demonstrate to each other. In Jesus name, Amen.

Help Us To Stand Again!

God of grace and glory, we humbly ask you to stand up in us as we face the challenges of the uncertain seasons of this time. We stand and after we have done all, stand again.

Forgive us when we have neglected the lessons you taught us that helped us to stand in the heat of the day.

If we fall again, help us to rise. Put within us a faith and hope that cannot be quenched. Inspire all harrassed and struggling souls of every race, nation, religon and hue with the assurance that all the forces of good are working for them and are moving them on to peace, health and holiness. We shall stand...and in Jesus name, after we have done all again..we shall stand. Amen.

Extravagant Generosity

It is in your presence today we call the names of the least, the less and the left out. We lift those who are wrestling with life changing decisions, negative physical environments and ailments.

Quicken our hearts that we may be swift to hear the cries of others from the pit of need. Enlarge our hearts to embrace with love the world larger than our own; help us to have special regard for and respond to the poor and weak, sick and frail, the very young and the very old whether it is in Memphis or Mozambique; Detroit or Darfur; the Nile or Mississippi delta; Afghanistan or Anderson, Indiana; Haiti or Henderson county; Rwanda or Rhode island.

All of creation is precious in your sight, thank God. Help us to demonstrate extravagant grace and generosity wherever a need is found. In Jesus name, Amen.

Save Us From Too Small

Lord, you continue to be our dwelling place from generation to generation, from year to year and from day to day. Assure us again of your presence as we navigate the complicated pathways of life. Renew our strength to face the adversaries of our souls. Forgive us when we have failed to keep our promises to you and to each other.

Save us now from visions too small, ideas too narrow and plans too shallow. Empower us to reach beyond ourselves to a community waiting for us to demonstrate your extraordinary love in tangible ways. In the Name above every other name, Amen.

Keeping Power!

Lord Jesus, in your name we thank you today for a grace that still amazes. Our lives would be terribly different if it wasn’t for your grace. Our names could be listed in the obituary section of the newspaper this morning or on the hospital registry, a court docket, or a sign-in sheet of a mental institution – prognosis poor and future dim.

Thank you for speaking life into all of our dead places. Thank for your unmerited favor!Thank you for a grace that lifts us up out of the pits of hell,. Thank you for a grace that cannot be earned and is not deserved

Thank you for the hand of grace that holds us up. Thank you for the grace that stands us up again when life trips us up. Thank you for a grace with amazing keep power. In Jesus name, may we live this day in anticipation that grace will meet us along the way.
