Thanks Living!

Lord Jesus, in your name we thank you this morning for a grace that sill amazes. My life would be terribly different if it wasn’t for your grace. Our names could be listed in the obituary section of the newspaper this morning or on the hospital registry, a court docket, or a sign in sheet of a mental institution – prognosis poor and future dim. Thank for your unmerited favor!

Thank you for a grace that lifts us up out of the pits of hell, Thank you for a grace that doesn’t have to meet any human approval system. Thank you for grace that shows up even when it is not deserved!

Thank you for the amazing grace that stands us up again when life trips us up. In Jesus name, Amen and Amen.

Dare to Believe

Who will we become if we dare to believe that we can do all things through you? Where will we go if we dare to believe that you order the steps of the righteous? What will we do if we dare to believe that nothing is impossible with you? How can we make it if we dare to believe that all things work together for good?

Lord, help us to dare to believe your word today. Your word has the power to reproduce itself in the life of the believer. Lord, we believe. Lord, help our unbelief.

Empower us to help another to dare to be and to do according to your Word.

Awesome Lord, thank you for your encouraging presence. Thank you for the new morning mercies. Thank you for unexpected grace. Thank you for your love that dilutes negative attitudes, harsh words and the uncertainty of our times.

Forgive us of falling short of your glory. Thank you for forgiving us of our trespasses as we forgive others.

Help us to be an encouraging presence to someone today. Help us to lift another's spirit with a kind word. Help us to celebrate the success of someone else without jealousy or envy, Help us to do good and to make good use of the time your give us.

Alone Not Lonely

O God, I rejoice today that I can spend time just being with you. No matter how much I love those you placed in my life, I love being alone in your presence for this moment. Let me fall into your arms, again. Let me taste and see that you are good, again. Let me drink deeply from your refreshing pools of living water, again. Feed me, O bread of heaven until I want no more.

Keeping company with you, the source of all wisdom, knowledge and power, leads to a greater revelation beyond human achievement. Being alone with you is a joy, alone and never lonely.

Tutor my spirit, when I need to be challenged. Assure my heart when fear seeks to overtake my faith. Give me a peace that satisfies my hunger for certainty and control. In Jesus name, Amen

Let hope so infuse our lives that all we are, all we think and all we do is a testimony to your power in our lives. Help us to face the challenges of the day discerning your guiding hand; Empower us with a power not our own so we can face the world's problems with a fresh vision, passion, energy and the perspective of the those who know that you are the hope of the world. For in this hope we are saved.

We hope now and that which is to come even if we can’t see it yet. Since we hope in what you are bringing about, we will patiently wait for it. In Jesus name, Amen.

Pile Ups!

"Our sins are piled up before God and testify against us...The Redeemer will come..."

Isaiah 59: 12-13, 20

Almighty and Everlasting God, we come confessing we have allowed too many things to pile up before you, even are sins. The work, the emails, the project completing, the thinking, the dishes, the laundry, the assignments, the trash, the mess, the shopping, the cooking, the wrapping, the giving, the tweeting and text responses are piled high even the sins that so easily beset us. O Lord, what can we do?

Isaiah prayed for Israel knowing that they couldn't handle their pile of sins by themselves. Neither can we. As we continue to celebrate the season of Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit who comforts and convicts forgive us Lord. Then, show us how we can bring down to size the earthly piles of "oughts" and "shoulds" of our lives. Amen.

Go with us as we seek to serve and bear witness to your appearing and to your pursuit of salvation for all people. Give us opportunity to share our story of your goodness and your love.
