God Works!

DAY FIFTHTEEN

The psalmist reminds us during our Praycation sojourn that God works in Psalm 37: 5. The meaning of the verse is “Roll your way onto Jehovah and trust Him, and He works.” Whatever we bring to God’s attention and roll onto God immediately God goes into action. Our expectation that God will work in God’s own time and way is what enables the Holy Spirit to do what we have “rolled” onto him. It is out of our hands.

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.”

Psalm 37: 5

Lord, I roll onto you every challenge, crises and concern knowing that you are working on it right now!

Remember to pray your Simple Sentence Prayer daily and breathe. Exhale, Lord I need you. Inhale, Lord, I receive you.

'Tis So Sweet

Dear God,

The news is not good today. Everywhere we turn there is something else to cause anxiety or something to be afraid of. It could be another flood, tornado, tsunami, nuclear reactor, high gas prices or unemployment that weighs heavy upon our hearts.

Help us to stand on your word to trust in you and lean not to thin own understanding. O Lord, we put our trust in you.

In spite of today's news reports and the constant threat of danger, we seek you knowing we will find our strength and security in you. We can move forward today and rest peacefully tonight with the wonderful assurance that you' ve got our backs! Amen and Amen.

Seek and Ye Shall Find

Early we seek you this morning to pause in your presence; to breath out impurities and breath in whatsoever is kind, good, and lovely, to think on these things before the intrusion of whatsoever is deep, dark and real.

Strengthen us for the journey ahead; equip us to stand before our adversaries as we humble ourselves before you.

Lift us up to live the abundant life you came to give us and help us to lift others, the lonely, least and left out so that they may have a vision beyond what their eyes can see to what is promised in Your word.

Unwavering Trust

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”

Psalm 37: 5

We come today with joy in our hearts grateful for another opportunity to do all to the glory of God. Our spirit sings as we face the challenges and changes in our lives in your presence.

Forgive us when we have spent too much time murmuring and complaining. Deliver us from unwholesome thoughts and unchastened desires. Turn our hearts away from hopeless brooding and faithless reflection.

We commit to you our souls, our bodies and ourselves. Increase our faith as we declare today an unwavering trust that in your steadfast love. We commit to your care the sincere desires of our hearts trusting that you will act on our behalf. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Trust and Obey

" Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding;.. "

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Today Lord, we are grateful that trust and thanksgiving will get us through anything we must face. Help us to trust you all the more with everything and for everything. When we trust in You, trust protects us from constant worry. When we thank you in everything and for everything with our whole heart, gratitude keeps us from complaining.

Help us to trust and obey. Banish troubles to the periphery of our minds as we lean not to our own understanding. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Minds Fixed

O Lord our God, how excellent is your name in all the earth. Grant us this day the reality of your presence. We earnestly seek you. We desire you. We fix our minds on you. We commit ourselves to you again - and again. In all our ways we want to acknowledge you so that you will direct our paths.

You have given us so much, not because you love us more than others, but because you trust us with your treasure in these earthen vessels of ours. Help us to do to live wisely, love sincerely, serve wholeheartedly, act justly and show mercy today and forevermore.

Let us pray, O Lord,

Give no heed to those who are greedy, attend not to those who do wrong. For, like the green grass of spring, they soon fade and wither away. Trust in the Most High, and seek goodness; live harmoniously upon the earth in peace and assurance. Take delight in the Beloved, and enjoy the bountiful gifts of love. Commit your life to he Beloved, confident that Love will act on your behalf, making clear your pathway bright as the sun at midday.
