O Lord our God, chip away at those things that hinder holiness in our lives. Help us today to desire character over cosmetics and commitment over convenience. Help us to seek after a sound soul rather than impressive appearance. It is far too easy for us to see what is on the outside and ignore the substance of the heart or the mind.
Help us to recognize that opportunities are not always so distant in the future but some of them are right in front of us. Equip us with the gifts and skills to take advantage of those opportunities. Empower us to act on them expediently. In your Name, Amen.
