Assure Our Hearts

God, help us to keep company with you today the ultimate source of all wisdom and power. Our hearts crave assurance. Assure our hearts. Our fears compel us to seek a faith that submits to them.

Help us to entrust our lives to you, and to realize that you are closer to us than we are to ourselves. Comfort us. Assure us by your very presence. May we experience strength and wisdom because we kept company with you.

In Jesus Name, Amen

For Our Children

* A young honor student was beaten to death coming home from school on the streets of Chicago yesterday. Please pray for a hedge of protection to surround all of our children today and everyday.
VMM

Holy Righteous and forgiving God, in your son Jesus name we ask for your healing protection for our children. We ask you Lord that you meet them where they are in the full pardon of their circumstances.

Lord reign over their lives that their living is not in vain. Teach them God what it is to advocate for themselves, teach them what it is to acknowledge you first and show them what it looks like for all things to line up because you are the head of their lives.
Show our children what it means to love themselves as you have loved them. Teach what it means to be their comforter, thier confidant and their guide. Demonstrate what real love looks and feels like for them so that they does not seek it elsewhere.
Put our children in right relationship with you, so that they will be able to recognize what good healthy relationships are and how to manage and stay in them.

Teach them what it means to be the very temple of the living God, that they learn not to abuse or mutilate their bodies with drugs, sex, alcohol, or weapons, but show them what it means to rise early and bathe and bask in the glow of your peace and righteousness and love.

We thank you Loving God, in your son Jesus name we pray. Amen

Rev. Toni Belin

Prayer Quote

Please don't be too busy to prayer today:

"We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results."

Gracious God, in our Lord and Savior Jesus Name,

We thank you for your goodness and your grace and your mercy. hank you that despite who we are, you love us anyhow. Thank you Lord for being our way maker and our heavy load sharer. Thank you that despite our best efforts to the contrary, you seek to redeem us and to make us whole.
Healing God, we ask for the healing of our world. We know Lord that you have all power and you do all things well, so right now we ask that you anoint us for the battle that rages within us. Oftentimes, we cannot find the words to adequately articulate what goes on in our minds, the things that distract us from you. But God you know, you know our desires and our hearts please strengthen us that we learn to operate in your will that our living will not be in vain.

In the name of Jesus Amen

Weathering the Storm

Father God, Today I am afraid. I look around me at this world that is changing so fast and I feel lost like a small boat in the midst of a storm. I am not built to weather the battering waves or the howling wind. So I wait now in your presence. You spoke the oceans and the four winds into being. You threw the stars in the sky and separated the sea from dry land. You took the hand of Peter who was sinking into the depths of the water and walked him to safety. I choose now to fix my eyes on you and not on the storm. I settle my heart on your love and not on the current that threatens to pull me under. Thank you that you are my firm anchor even through the darkest night, Amen

From Sheila Walsh author of "Let Go"

Prayer Experience

It has been inspiring and uplifting and refreshing. Like a new watering hole. I thank God for you.
Rev. Marva

I rise before dawn and cry for help,
I hope in your word.
My eyes watch through the night
to ponder your promise.

Prayer Experience

Father,

I need you this morning. I need you to be the breath I take, I need you to be in every decision I make. I need you to direct every move I make. I need you to be in every word I speak. Without you, I continue to realize I really would not be able to function. I so grateful that in times like these, questionable times, emotional times, rough times, in times like these, I'm so grateful that you are there for me to lean on. I don't know where I would be without you.

I thank you that I'm not on the outside looking in on your grace. I thank you that I'm not at the bottom of your priority list. I thank you that I'm not at the back door trying to get in on your love. Thank you for making me a priority today. Thank you that even though you are busy intervening universally, you are not to busy to allow me to spend time with you.

I invite you to be LORD over everything in my life today.

Love, your child

ETERNITY’S EMBRACE

Let us pray:

In the quiet of the night
My soul reaches for you
I breathe deep
As I feel Eternity
Embracing me…
In the midnight hour
I whisper my prayer
Knowing that you hear me
I am able to close my eyes
As I breathe (inhale)
(exhale) Just breathe
Listening
As you speak
In a still small voice
That summons me
Down the path
Of my greatest good
As I journey
I see the manger
The cross
The tomb
And I rejoice as I
Dance
Just dance
Into the Light
of Eternity.

Prayer Quote

"Prayer catapults us onto the frontier of the spiritual life. Of all the Spirirutal Disciplines prayer is the most central because it ushers us into perpetual communion with the Father. Meditation introduces us to the inner life, fasting is an acocompanying means. study transforms our minds, but it is the Discipline of prayer that brings us into the deepest and highest work o the human spirit. Real Prayer is life creating and life changing."

LEANING INTO GRACE

Let us pray together:

Oh God
On this morning
I lean into Your grace
So glad that Your mercies
Are new every morning
For I confess
I have sinned
Fallen short
Of Your Glory.
Have mercy Lord
Have mercy on me
And echoing
Rebounding
throughout eternity
I hear Your voice
Father
Forgive
S/he knows not what
S/he does...
Oh!
Amazing Grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now am found
Was blind
But now I see…
Thank you
O Merciful God
For your
Amazing Grace
Which looks beyond my faults
And sees my needs…

Prayer Experience

Consumed by Grace:

So often when I am tempted to take matters into my own hands and my soul is flooded, there are only two choices that I have: I can sink and allow my life to be consumed, drowning in sorrow.... OR I can swim and allow my life to be consumed, overwhelmed by GRACE...rising from agony through the Power of Prayer...walking on water.

Can I get a witness from all you non-swimmers out there? (Luke 22:42; Zech. 4:6b).

OPEN DOORS

Let us pray together:

Lord
I am waiting on the
Season of
The Open Door.
As I wait
I cast all of my cares on you
For I know you care for me
My Ears are open
My Heart is receptive
As I wait…
Straining to hear your “YES”
Knowing that it is coming
For I know—and believe--that
You have a good plan for me
Not to harm me
But to give me a future
And a hope.
So here I am Lord
Searching
Knocking
Asking
Savoring
the great expectation
of Your good gift
for me.
I live in trust
Walk by faith
It is…
ENOUGH.

Strengthen Us

Let us pray together:

O Lord, in this time of change and promise, strengthen us. You are our strength and our shield; You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We know, Gracious God that your eyes go to and fro throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts long for you. We often grow weary, but our hope is in you to renew our strength, courage and vision. We do not fear, for you are with us. We are not dismayed or overwhelmed, for you are our God. We know you will strengthen us and help us; that you will uphold us with your righteous hand. We abide in your comfort. In the matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Prayer Experience

Gracious God, Abba, Father, I praise you. I worship you. I adore you this morning. Mighty Ruler and Awesome Creator, I thank you for another day.

Father, as I begin this day, I commit myself totally into your hands. I give you my heart to guard, because out of my mouth comes what is in my heart. I give you my mind to guard, because as I think, so therefore I am. I give you my tongue, because it can hurt not only my enemies, but also those I hold dear.

God, I give you me this morning. I pray that I have hidden your words in my heart that I might not sin against you. Take full control. Help me to represent you in the most excellent way. I ask you to search my heart father, and remove anything in me that goes against your statures. Replace those areas with your love.

Forgive me of any thing I may have done, I may have said, or that I may have thought that was not pleasing in your sight. Help me to walk and work worthy of your calling. I ask for your guidance in all that I do today. I pray that your hands of protection will keep us. I pray your grace and mercy upon all of my prayer partners, the fellowship of the Body of Christ, all of the workers of your vineyard, my family, and my friends.

I especially lift up to you all of our loved ones who have not made that commitment to follow you. Let today be the day that they take note of how blessed they are. Open their eyes, their ears, and their heart to your voice, and your calling. Let today be the day they answer, and say YES to you. I love you, I praise you, and I glorify you!

Sing, Laugh and Dance

Let us pray together:

Thank you Lord for being all beginnings and all endings. In the morning you cradle the world and in the evening you heal our wounds so we can fight another day; You are the morning dew and the evening mist; You are the early morning sun kissing the potential of a new day and you are the twilight whispering promises yet to come.

We sing of sorrows and laugh at mistakes; we dance in the rain and laugh at the wind; we dream of things yet to come and believe the things we hope for, the evidence of thing unseen.

When our faith falters and our hopes crash upon the craggy rocks of ambition, renew our strength; let us be caught into your loving arms when we faint and lifted up as we struggle to rise above circumstances that seek our demise. You are a great and mighty God who helps us to live above our circumstances.

It is in the name of Gratitude we pray, Amen.

SELAH

Our lives are daily assaulted by noise, crowds, crime and challenges. Our serenity is intimidated by a cacophony of information that pushes and shoves its way through a surfeit of media sources.

Prayer is God’s gracious invitation to leave the chaos of 21st century culture, the comfort zone of your living room and enter into the throne room of God. Prayer is a divine communication strategy designed to be an all access pass into the open heart of God.

In August 2009 we began a 31-day spiritual journey of prayer, scripture and action. More than 4,550 persons prayed. Many of you started and stopped, never got started or vacations and life got in the way of the journey.

You shared that you’d like to continue to receive a daily prayer. Thus, the journey continues. It is no longer a praycation, a break in routine; it is a Selah, a place where we stop and listen before moving on or changing tempo.

In the coming days, let’s pray together. Invite others to join you. Send it to someone who needs a Selah. Subscribe to guarantee that when a new prayer is posted it will come immediately into your email in-box.

Share your prayer experiences, your original prayers or favorite prayer quotes. Let see where God will lead us!

Prayer Quote

“Prayer is the inner bath of love into which the soul plunges itself”

St. John Vianney

Soul Tending

Let us prayer together:

Lord, we come into your presence with an open heart, an open mind and open hands. Listening, our ears are like an open box, available to receive divine instructions and every good and perfect gift.

Thank you for the invitation to taste your infinite goodness, glimpse new mercies on the horizon of a new day and feast on a grace that is not earned or deserved.

Forgive us for attending to everyone and every need with little time to tend to our souls. Forgive us when we ignore the spiritual landscape of the interior life.

Help us to be still in these precious moments and know. Help us to return to our quiet core to hear your voice, the voice that transforms the mind and heart so that we may enter again stronger, better and wiser to do what pleases you rather than what pleases us.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Loving God

Let's Pray together:
Loving God,

I love you this morning, because you have never left us alone. You have always provided, protected and preserved your creation. Eventhough, we constantly try to leave you out and we do not always do, say or think what is pleasing to you, you continue to pour out your exuberant love on us. Thank you God. Thank you for another beautiful day that we can live and show your love to one another. Help us to be patient with each other as you are so patient with us. Help us to go beyond what is expected and reach toward your excellence today. Help us to not be stumbling blocks to each other. Help us to follow the example of your son Jesus, who healed all of the sick.

In his name we thank you,
Amen

God Help Us To Love Each Other

The Bible declares at James 4:8…”Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” Please pray with me:

God, help us to love each other as You love us:
Loving through the layers of what we think is hidden;
Loving through the unspoken while listening to our empty utterances;
Loving despite contradictions of what we say and what we do;
God, help us to love each other because You love us with our faults.

God, help us to love each other as You love us:
Loving through our cover-ups;
Loving through our sweet utterances, yet dark hearts;
Loving through our lies spoken with “just enough” truth;
God, help us to love each other because You love us despite what you know about us.

God, help us to love each other as You love us;
Loving through our mistakes;
Loving through our intakes;
Loving through our outbreaks;
God, help us to love each other because of Your unconditional love toward us.

God, help us to love each other because this is Your message from the beginning: “We should love one another.” We ask these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer Experience

Hallelujah!!! What a wonderful spiritual experience. I am so grateful for the order of the Scriptures chosen for the month, the prayers and the journaling. What a wonderful start to a new schoool year of reading and studying God's Word. I am going on a mission trip to Liberia in October and this has helped me also with my spiritual preparation for that task.

May God's blessings continue for you and your staff.

Prayer Experience

I cannot begin to say how much this praycation has blessed me! There were days when the prayer and comments were just what I needed. God is sooooo awesome!
Bishop McKenzie I thank you for this idea and prayer service. Everyone who left a prayer experience message I thank you because they were right on time also. You will never know how much I needed this and I've tried to share it with family and friends I just pray they followed it or will go back and go through it.

Love and blessings, Donna
